Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) was established as a semi-autonomous think tank by the Executive Order of Prime Minister of Pakistan in June 1999. The institute is dedicated to research, analysis and evaluation of strategic and emerging issues as well as events of regional and international importance that have relevance to Pakistan's national interest and policies.

In its research activities, IPRI interacts freely with national and international forums, think tanks and scholars of high repute at home and abroad through formal/informal discussions, seminars and workshops.

Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS)

The Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS) is an independent, not-for-profit non governmental research and advocacy think-tank. An initiative of leading Pakistani scholars, researchers and journalists, PIPS conducts wide-ranging research and analysis of political, social and religious conflicts that have a direct bearing on both national and international security.

The Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) is an independent, non-profit research centre devoted to the study of the region around Pakistan: South Asia, Southwest  Asia (Iran, Afghanistan and the Gulf), China, Central Asia as well as the Indian Ocean region. It also studies and analyses policies of major power centers towards  South Asia. The Institute was set up in March 1982. It is considered one of Pakistan's leading think tanks. The Institute covers a wide spectrum of research in  foreign and internal affairs, economy and industry, science and technology, socio-cultural and security related issues and thus provides an in-depth  understanding and objective analyses of regional and global issues.

Comparative Studies of South Asia, Africa and the Middle East (CSSAAME) is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to critical and comparative analyses of the histories, cultural productions, social and gender relations, politics, and economies of Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. It particularly seeks to foster theoretically innovative scholarship that is simultaneously engaged with the global and grounded in the local. CSSAAME, which merged with the former South Asia Bulletin in 1995, is distinguished by its commitment to scholarship that brings together the breadth of comparative studies, the depth of area studies, and the theoretical sophistication of postcolonial and cultural studies.

Pakistan Journal of Social Sciences (PJSS) disseminates original and quality research in all disciplines of social sciences. It was formerly the Journal of Research (Humanities) from 1987 to 2008. PJSS is a double-blind peer-reviewed and multidisciplinary international research journal that publishes bi-annually by Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, Pakistan.
